Virtually every day, throw away all kinds of cans, for example, canning. Well, we will completely transform a can of olives was about to go away in a beautiful, useful and very original.
Do not make that face when you explain what it is, you will see that you have used on occasion.
It is a thermoplastic polymer composed of repeating units of ethylene and vinyl acetate. Hence its name, is designated as EVA
In other words, what we all know as eva rubber.

MATERIALS AND TOOLS YOU WILL NEED
- One can no longer serve you. We have used a can of olives.
- Ordinary scissors and if you have, pinking shears. If you do not have the latter, do not worry, you can do well.
- Pliers.
- Cutter.
- Rule.
- Pen.
- Thermo adhesive gun.
- Dies. If you have different motives, the better. Otherwise, you can use the same motif for the decoration.
- Eva rubber of different colors and textures.
OK ... LET'S START WITH THE PROCEDURE
Step 1: The first thing to do is eliminate as sharp and dangerous edge that have these types of containers at its edge.
To do this we will use pliers. The closer these, minus the edge of the can be deformed.
Let bending slowly edge toward the side of a can.
Now there is no danger of cutting.
Step 2: Then we have to measure the height and circumference of the can. In this case we have almost 12 cm and 20.5 cm respectively.
Step 3: Now we transport the middle of the rubber eva. Let's put a first layer glitter finish to give a more cheerful appearance. Therefore give 13 cm high to return the edge to the inside of the can.
We draw lines and cut with normal scissors.
Step 4: Now we begin to stick on the tin layer rubber eva just cut. We will use the heat gun adhesive.
As this type of adhesive is very fast drying, we will apply vertical lines and immediately we will joining.
Step 5: For the union to be perfect, we have cut the slightly longer than the circumference of the can piece.
Once bound the entire piece, with the cutter will cut and remove the excess, so that one side does not overlap the other.
In this part you do not need esmeres too, since after be hidden.
Step 6: Now we will make a few cuts on the part of Eva foam protruding above. And attach it to the inside of the can.
Step 7: The next step is to measure, mark and cut three pieces that will be superimposed on just paste. We will use bright and fun colors.
Longer parts cut off with the pinking shears to give a decorative appearance. But if not, you can make the cuts with normal scissors.
Step 8: Once cut three strips, we will troquelarlas. We will use three different dies.
You can use more or less variety. And depends on how you want to.
These dies are intended to cut paper or card, but also cut rubber eva well as it is a soft material.
Nothing, started punching. I am doing it by eye, but if you spend a few minutes to measure and calculate where to go every occasion, you will be perfect.
Troquelamos the three strips.
For the upper and lower strip, we used the same reason, a teddy bear.
The remaining part of the reason we are doing, the save it for use in another craft to do later.
In the central strip, make two rows of decorative motifs.
Step 9: Time to paste. We start at the bottom. Note that this part should be fully aligned to the base of the can. This you can do, just lay it on the desk. Yo, so it would look good in the video, I had to improvise a side.
Remember, go slowly sticking to the adhesive does not dry out prematurely.
Step 10: Once pasted all around the can, mark with the cutter, where to cut the excess. And cut with scissors.
You see, the union is perfect.
We ended up hitting the piece, uniting both ends.
Step 11: With the other two strips, proceed in exactly the same way but, this time, matching the jagged cuts.
If for any area, did not fit well, make them match exactly shrinking or stretching a little rubber eva. This material is very malleable and easy to work.
Do not worry about the remaining adhesive tendrils, once dried, are removed without any problem.
Step 12: You see, we have measured to the top protrude approximately 5mm.
Step 13: We remove the tendrils that commented before, and we have finished our pencil holder with recycled tin.
However, you can give a flawless finish inside typing a glass of plastic.
If this comes just as is the case, just enter it. But if you got a little holguero, you'd have to put 3 or 4 dots of adhesive and enter the vessel.
You can use besides pencil holder, as a vase for example.
